Troop 70 Scout Speaks at Council Luncheon

On November 18 at the Waldorf=Astoria, Greater New York Councils held the 2004 Distinguished Citizen in Communication Arts "Good Scout" awards luncheon honoring Jeff Zucker, President of NBC Universal. Serving as Master of Ceremonies for the afternoon was Tim Russet, anchor of "Meet the Press". The special guest to present the award to Mr. Zucker was Donald Trump, President of the Trump Organization and star of the hit NBC show "The Apprentice".

Troop 70 Scout, Anthony Davino, was selected to be the Scout Speaker for the luncheon. In his speech Anthony talked about the fun times he has had in Scouting and the many skills he learned. Turning towards Mr. Trump Anthony said, "with Scouting as my foundation I will never find myself in a board room facing the words "YOUR FIRED!" - a reference to Donald Trump's TV show "The Apprentice"

As a thank you, Mr. Russet presented Anthony with a Boy Scout Field Book, a Certificate of Appreciation, and a special Scout Speaker/Service Corps. council shoulder patch. In his remarks, Mr. Russet said that Anthony could be his apprentice anytime.
